It may not look like much at initial glance but it features a
large relational database backend for the management of bicycle parts,
specification and all supporting data (for this bicycle developer / distributor).
The database backend has 21 tables all related with a numerous amount of fields for
this dynamically generated Online Parts & Specifications DSS.
There are 3 user levels and users can email others to notify them of new specifications.
Specifications can be archived many times and ultimately a report can be generated for
hard copy filing. The way the report is generated (category wise) can be administered
and dynamically re-ordered.
This system is used to manage hundreds of bicycle designs (specifications) and thousands of parts (similar to the Dell computer configuration system).
